The Monastery of San Antolín de Bedón

The Monastery of San Antolín de Bedón is already mentioned in documents from the 12th century, it is located at the mouth of the Bedón river, on the beach of San Antolín. The construction that is preserved is the Romanesque-style church that began to be built in the early 13th century. It has three naves and a sanctuary with three semicircular apses. Its foundation is wrapped in legends and is attributed to Count Muñazán. It belonged to the Benedictine order and was abandoned as a temple after the confiscation of the church.
